
In a bid to attract travelers as the number one destination, VisitScotland has launched a new app. The goal of the new app is to focus on Chinese social media users. The Chief executive of VisitScotland Malcolm Roughead assessed the huge potential of Chinese tourists. According to him with robust air connectivity Scotland can become a much-preferred tourist destination by the Chinese traveler. A host of information regarding tourist centers will be made available to the Chinese tourist to enhance planning for visits to the country.With the aid of VisitBritain, the number of Chinese visitors to Scotland increased by 315 per cent in the year 2011.
Scotland is divided into four regions according to the mini-app. One can obtain information on various activities, shopping, food and drinks etc. Communication channels have been set up with Mandarin-speaking staff to help the tourists. The introduction of a direct flight from China to Scotland has boosted tourism. Scotland’s premier travel trade event saw maximum attendance from Chinese buyers.
There were several businesses that teamed up with the national tourism body to promote business development in Beijing, Guangzhou and Xi’an. VisitScotland also launched social media channels in China. All in all, VisitScotland is focused on making the whole experience of tourism fascinating for the Chinese traveler.
