
China Netcasting Services Association(CNSA) along with the authorities in Central Chinese City of Wuhan have laid down live-streaming regulations for all the organizations associated with live streaming platforms. Keeping some standards in mind, Tencent has recently launched its set of 12 rules for Live Streaming on WeChat and Tencent Games. Tencent will closely monitor the live sessions and the reports made by the users will be processed faster for prompt actions.
The rules were published and are still available on Tencent official gaming WeChat account. All the live-streamers on WeChat platform as well as Tencent Games have to follow the rules strictly. If any live streamer violates any of these 12 rules, they will be held accountable, and there will be severe consequences.

Live-Streaming Regulations –
The live-streaming rules and regulations are made to protect the interest of the Chinese government. It also safeguards the interest of Chinese society and social values. Moreover, it helps to maintain the integrity of Tencent and WeChat platforms. It addresses national policies, personal privacy, brand value concerns, and social stability. The guidelines by CNSA have 100 categories of non-compliant content, and they also address underage streamers as well as the dress code of the female streamers.
As far as the punishment goes, an account can be suspended and even banned for a limited period or the lifetime. It all depends on the severity of the violation. Besides, there are provisions for other types of punishments which will be determined based on the track record of the live-streamed. Tencent Live-Streaming Rules –
– Any live-streaming that violates Chinese social values is prohibited. Therefore, live streaming regarding sensitive topics such as politics, religion, and fake news is punishable.
– There is a prohibition on live streaming that can cause disputes and agitations and can bring adverse social impacts.
– Any action that leads to the infringement of the copyright of the designers of the games is not allowed. It can be pointing out bugs, spreading misinformation to defame the game, use of cheats and buts and likewise.
– Any action that violates the privacy of other users leading to the revelation of information about those users without their permission is punishable with immediate effect.
– Prohibition of the live video streamers who are violating their contracts with live-streaming platforms. Any failure to abide by the rules in the contract is punishable.

– Any action that damages the user experience and damages the brand value of the live streaming platforms is prohibited.
– The use of illegal means like illegal private servers, the use of viruses, bots, and cheats during live streaming is punishable.
– Promotion of content that is vulgar and indecent and distribution of false information is prohibited, and strict actions will be taken.
– Promotion of subjects that are damaging to Chinese society such as gambling, terrorism and various such illegal activities is punishable, and the consequences can be severe.
– Any action during WeChat Live stream that does not comply with the rules, regulations, and ethics of the product is punishable.
